How To Get Blood Out Of Carpet

Even though most carpets are treated to prevent stains, some body fluids, like blood, makeup, drinks, and foods, can leave stains that you can’t get rid of. Most of the time, it’s easy to get blood out of carpets and get rid of the stain completely if you use the right tools and techniques.

If you want to get rid of blood stains on your carpet, we suggest that you hire a professional cleaner. Never use chlorine-based or bleaching products to get blood out of carpets, as these might change the color of your carpet.

When it comes to getting blood out of carpets, or any other kind of stain, the most important thing to remember is that the faster you act, the more likely you are to get a good result.

If you don’t know how to get blood out of your carpet, you should do these one to three first aid steps as soon as you find a fresh or dried blood stain. Again, the faster you act, the more likely it is that the blood stain on your carpet will come out.

When you’re trying to get blood stains out of the carpet, always start at the outside and work your way in. It is important to rinse off and blot up any remaining stain-removing agent so that the cleaned area doesn’t get dirty again quickly.

First, clean up any blood on the carpet.

If the blood on the carpet is new, first clean up the blood with a dry, white cloth or absorbent paper that hasn’t been colored. You could, for example, gently dab the blood stain with kitchen paper towels.

Note: Don’t rub, because that could make the blood stain worse. Instead, you should blot up the stain and move on to the next step in our guide to getting blood out of a carpet.

Step 2: Get rid of the blood stain by putting it in lukewarm water.

When you want to get blood out of a carpet, the next step is to put cold water on the stain (without soap, washing powder, liquid detergent or any similar agents). To get blood out of carpets, you need to use cold water because warm water makes blood clot faster, which makes it harder to get out of the carpet. Use a damp cloth to gently dab the spot, and then use a dry, white cloth to soak up as much of the liquid as possible.

Step 3: Cover the stain with potato starch

After you’ve used lukewarm water to dissolve the blood stain on your carpet, sprinkle potato starch on it and let it dry for 24 hours before vacuuming the carpet.
Most of the time, the first three steps in this guide will be enough to get the blood out of the carpet. If you’re still not happy with the results, go to step 4 for another way to get the blood out of the carpet.

Step 4: Use a stain remover on the blood spot on the carpet.

If the blood stain on your carpet is still there after you’ve tried to remove it with water and potato starch, try a universal stain remover. This is a little harder on your carpets, so be careful when using stain-removing agents to get rid of blood stains. Instructions on how to use the product can be found on the packaging.

If steps 1 through 4 of first aid don’t get the blood out of your carpet, do the following: Use a cloth dipped in a mixture of cold water and salt to rub the area (2 tbsp. salt per liter of water). Keep dabbing until the blood comes out of the carpet fibers, and try to use as little water and salt solution as possible.

If none of the steps above work to get the blood out of the carpet, a special stain-removing agent will have to be used. In general, it’s important to follow the instructions for how to use and how much to use, and you shouldn’t treat areas that are wet. Instead, the blood stain should be left to dry before applying the special agent (s).

If the treatment leaves a mark, it could mean that the carpet is generally dirty and needs to be cleaned. If the stain comes back after being treated, it is usually because there is still some stain-removing agent or stain residue in the carpet. In this case, the area should be cared for again according to the instructions in step 3 of the first aid guide.

When you use a new cleaning product or stain remover on the carpet for the first time, you should check to see if it could hurt the carpet. Damage happens when colors run, change color, bleach, or dissolve. Test both the cleaner and the stain remover on an area the size of a postage stamp to avoid this. This could be in a corner, under a radiator, or somewhere else.
